Things Happening Now:
i find myself really enjoying chai, with its milky spicy flavor.
It's newly time to wear wool braided sweaters in brown, blue and purple.
Lots of listening to Blind Pilot, Antje, and Bon Iver. i'm very into seasonal matches of weather and music.
Eating breakfasts of cinnamon raisin english muffins with cream cheese and strawberry jam.
We turned on our heat for the very first time yesterday, upon which a slightly burny smell but lots of delightful heat arrived.
There is a beautiful layer of green golden leaves in abundance in our backyard.
Devouring linnea's yummo chicken tortilla soup with grated cheese, sour cream dollops and frito chips.
Lots of reading new fiction books with my spanky new library card (i am secretly the holder of TWO cards--for both multnomah and washington counties. take THAT county rule makers!)
Working shifts for a few more days in the Pediatric ER, a nice break since kids just have what they have.
I am newly on a four month countdown to next vacation, to glorious Maui. and no heinous rotations, so 4months doesn't even seem sad. there will be hot tubbing, cozy blankets, candles, books, and soaking in the quiet. there is something therapeutic about seasons.

I love your delicious descriptions of the glories of autumn; how you're reveling in the sensory goodness... (even your dangerous abandon owning two library cards- Ha!)
and how your house so often has burning candles... even in the daylight hours

oh i can actually feel the soft textures in this post...of blankets, of warm water, of soft leaves, of cinnamon chai tickling down the throat. wow. and i larfed quite aloud at the: take that county rule makers.

remember the Color Committee of Cinque Terre, deciding what colors the new houses would be ? now that's a good kind of county rule makering. hee hee.
