Oh Yes.....my very first time at the Portland Saturday Market!! This is one of the most festive, glorious, delicious street markets. Chockfull of the biggest and richest fuschia dahlias, sunflowers, and purple lilies. Food carts with the most enticing smells of rosemary and garlic and basil.
Linnea and I soaked it in, all the aesthetic glory. The live folk music and little kids laughing.
Below is the Lovely Tart Lady's stand, where she was dressed in Swiss lace and curly hair with flowers. The asparagus-chevre-proscuitto tart we ate was beyond description. And the beautiful fruit in barrels, raspberries spilling over into marionberries and blackberries. Ooh la la!

wow. that tart sounds amazing. i have such a hankering for berry pastry lately, and wish i could shuttle up to portland and join you for a saturday morning coffee stroll through the farmer's market on a quest for the perfect pastry!
oh, i love the "tips for the assistant sign" at the Lovely Tart Lady's stand. i feel like i owe her a tip just from the vicarious joy i got from reading this post!
how can i add after Jodi and Emily's posts of joy and participation ? I can't darn it. but i will whisper and hum bar of joyous garden spells chasing the moon joy for this. oh wow. the picture you and mom is A.maze.ing. what. in the world.

also the pink stripes is like old fashioned egg creams at the ice cream parlor and gorgeous bubbly ginger ale and beautiful fluffy skirts. Ahhhhh!!!
