Cycling at Sunset...

I may not have snapped this pic, but oh-my-goodness this evening really looked and felt like this. After assembling our new deep cherry wood Sleigh bed frame, and eating teriyaki chicken sandwiches on toasted buns, we hopped on our red/white/black bikes and buzzed into the city on our Springwater Corridor path. We passed Oaks Bottom amusement park, one of the oldest trinkety roller coaster/carnival sites in the United States, with a roller skating rink of wood floors and all. And get this, we passed a gal on her bike leaving Oaks Bottom, with classic roller skates in her backpack, and as we glanced down at the park, we could see in the rink a women's roller derby team practicing!
Past the park, it's through a deeper forest and then the River, and boats are out, and people in kayaks and motor boats, and a team of people learning to row an outrigger canoe together, tan and smiling. And on we go, onto the Esplanade, where the Science Museum has flags out on display advertising the Dinosaur exhibit of the summer.
But now the light is fading and we must sail home on our speedy thin tire bikes, on home to Sellwood, to our townhouse, to the last bits of cheesecake and blackberries. O bless you Summer!
