lovely wonderfulness

happy things lately...
1.huge purple and yellow irises have now bloomed(and then were cut fairly soon after) and are beautiful in our kitchen in a purply-blue ceramic vase i got at the thrift store a few weeks ago.
2.snickerdoodles are like my weirdly new favorite cookie. this hospital makes particularly good ones. goes down well at midnight with milk: )
3.getting to go to a summer art fair tonight with brooke and friends: warm air, crazy interesting hippie people, sidewalk jewelery stands, and the smell of amazing food cooking.
4.our nice cool basement with huge "bajama bags" (massive bean bags that are filled with foam) to sit and watch surround sound movies in. super comfy. you're all invited. we even put a microwave downstairs so there can be popcorn and hot chocolate. coming soon!
5.this is my second to last night of Night Float. hurrah!
6.there is only one more month of intern year....HURRAH!
7.there is lots of amazing summer ahead, and it promises to be full of swimming, adventures, hiking, sleeping under stars, and many more good things.

P.S. I couldn't help putting the post in bright grassy green colors. i inherited a hand me down grass green little fleece recently, that has been my cozy go-to at night in the hospital. and a nurse in the ER said, "Oh! I like that grass green," and also I mowed the lawn yesterday, and the newly cut brightness of that summer smell was inspiring. plus, i got a kick out of shoving our mower all around the lawn. it's one of those old school push mowers that you pat yourself on the back for getting a workout while mowing the lawn. Yay SUmmer!
