Life has such a heartfelt quality to it right now,a special liveliness. A summer glow, and already a zoo-visit is under my belt, roses blooming in my yard, and I went white water rafting yesterday. Summer goodness is infusing my veins like bright green grass is now my juicy stuff-of-life. And I showered with my new (thank you Brooklyn and Nea!) Rosemary shampoo and just the whiff of it throughout the day has been so pretty. and my hair is soft and fluffy and happy. And there are lake-days a-coming, and sleeping outside and riding my bike. and I already finished a small load of fun library books, and it is time to re-vamp my summer reading list (i am widely open to suggestions, my friends).
Oh last on-call-night life, end of being an intern life. Tah dah! Not an intern! My tongue swirls over those words like ice cream twists of chocolate vanilla. I don't mean this in a sad way, but the word does really become your identity so intensely that it takes you aback to realize a shift has come, a moving forward in the ranks. All the conference days where interns were volunteered by faculty to answer questions or participate in simulations, all the times on shift where the nurses ask "wait, are you the intern?" and all the references begin to make you firmly believe that this is your True Identity. BUt now, (well, not now but rather tomorrow at noon), I will be an R2, a PGY2 (post graduate year 2). Meaning that there is only one ICU month of residency left to do, which i will gratefully get out of the way in august. And then NO MORE CALL, no more pager on my hip, no more sleeping in icky call rooms or 2am pages from nurses asking for lozenges. YES PLEASE JUST GIVE THEM THE @%#^@^!$ LOZENGE!!!

Hahaha! The lozenges is a great end to this starting-out-sweet and ending-up-rollicking musings...Ah yes give them the freakin lozenges indeed! hee hee. I would like to take that world heart-felt and make a heart out of felt that has a poem and a picture of you with gypsy curls and a faraway look on your face, caught up in adventuring. Yes. that would be a good use of the power of the world heart-felt.
oooh, i am already working on a summer booklist for you...you will just have to not mind that none of the titles i have in mind are intended for adults:) and you are already working on a summer list for me that includes rosemary shampoo and chocolate vanilla twirl ice cream:)
