We bundled up, and joined dozens of people, some with a bonfire on the beach along the river, others sat near us on the dock.
It was finally a clear non-rainy night after a week of rainy and chilly.
There must have been twenty plus boats, with all sorts of lights: from swimming dolphins, to a firetruck complete with sirens, to little tug boats with pirate santa lights. Oohh it was wonderful. The following is my favorite: a whale with a spout that had moving lights.

oh yes
is that a baby whale glowing behind? it looked a bit like a dolphin in the first picture, so i couldn't tell. fun to hear your pre-shift voice last night, and that you are getting to do fun christmas things in between all that!
I especially loved looking down the river at the boats all in a row; like a little parade; all aglow and jaunty; happy that they brought us smiles and pleasure!
'twas such fun adventure together!
to be alive is to be vulnerable.... oh good food for the soul to ponder
