this is about so much quiet, about soaking in books in the sunlight on the porch in the morning. It seems like so long since I have done that, since the grey sky allowed it, since my tiredness or busyness, i am not sure which the more, gives way to quiet gratitude in the sunshine, drinking coffee by the gigantic mugful. I adore this out-of-doors. We ate rosemary bread with pesto and chicken outside the other night, and late one afternoon mowed the lawn. I have missed filling my lungs with draughts of outside air, and it is wondrous to feel alive in this different way. After hibernation, comes This.
I am ready for a garden bonfire party at our house, for restaurant seating outside, with twinkly lights and conversation. Summer concerts at the Zoo, and swimming. Lake swimming, please, I'll have some more. And summery foods, like chicken salad and the huge huge strawberries we have been eating with crunchy sugar sprinkled over. Grilling meat on the barbecue, and the best--driving through campgrounds at night smelling the charcoal joy cooking dinners, happy kids riding bikes through the loops circles.
I am a happy kid riding my bike through the loops and circles. Ah for more morning coffeee...

a happy echo from this corner of the world! let summer come with all of it's late sunlight, evenings sitting in the quiet, growing and planting and weeding. i would love nothing more than a yard day with you followed by a summer's night picnic. i am excited for THIS season ahead for you!
Oh, this post makes me think of you jumping into Candlewood Lake fully dressed, and then popping up, wet-headed and bright-eyed, with swimming arms extended.
dear, beautiful musings and dreams of days and times to come. the peace is utterly palpable in the sweet photo of you... in the mountain air, on the glassy lake and on your lovely face!
i adore being part of this conversation with you, reading Jody's echo back to you and Emily's snapshot memory of you at Candlewood Lake!
oh wow, its already a twinkly summer night party here, of three loverly womenies, friends and gypsies, fairies and dear ones. ahhhhh.... i love the references to picnics and swimming and peacefulness. also, i love that this photo is from Canada times, which speaks very deep joy and exploration and deep breaths.
oh yes. it is so, deep in us!
